Roles and Permissions

A guide explaining the user roles within the organization and the scope of permissions each role has.

In Oplist, users have different permission levels according to their roles within the organization.
This structure is designed to protect data security and prevent permission complexity.
The scope of duties and responsibilities for each role is explained below.


1. Organization Manager

The Organization Manager is responsible for system-wide configuration.

Duties and Permissions:

  • Views all departments.

  • Creates new departments.

  • Edits departments.

  • Defines and edits global shifts and shift rules (post-shift rules, period-based shift assignment limits, and Real Off).

  • Defines leave types and their properties.

  • Assigns roles to team members and adds them to the organization.

  • Reviews and approves schedule requests created by the Department Manager.

  • Views all schedules.

All structural definitions at the organization level are managed by this role.


2. Department Manager

The Department Manager performs actions only within the department they are responsible for.

Duties and Permissions:

  • Manages staff within their department.

  • Creates and manages groups within the department.

  • Enters staff special requests into the system.

  • Assigns staff leave by selecting from leave types defined at the organization level.

  • Selects the shifts to be used for the department from global shifts.

  • Defines department-specific staff requirements and exclude rules.

  • Submits the schedule created within their authorization limits for approval by the Organization Manager. The schedule does not become active without approval.

Note: If changes to global shift hours are required, the Department Manager requests a new shift definition or a revision of the existing shift from the Organization Manager.


3. Organization Auditor

The Organization Auditor views the overall system.

Duties and Permissions:

  • Views all departments.

  • Views schedules.

  • Reviews reports.

This role does not make any changes within the system. (ready-only)
