Create and Manage Block Hours

Learn how to create, edit, and manage reusable block hour types for use across your organization.

Overview

The Block Hours tab on the Organization page is where you create and manage reusable block hour types for your organization.

Each block hour type includes:

  • A Block Hour Name

  • A predefined number of Hours

The Block Hours list also displays the Created Date for each type.

You can use the search field to quickly find an existing block hour by name.


How to Access Block Hours

  1. Go to Organization from the left-hand navigation menu.

  2. Select the Block Hours tab.

From this page, you can view existing block hour types, create new ones, or manage previously created entries.


Create a Block Hour Type

To create a new block hour type:

  1. Go to Organization > Block Hours.

  2. Click Add Block Hour.

  3. Enter a Block Hour Name.

  4. Enter the number of Hours associated with the block hour.

  5. Click Add Block Hour.

The new block hour type will appear in the Block Hours list and will be available for use when adding block hours to staff in a schedule.


Manage Existing Block Hour Types

You can edit or delete existing block hour types directly from the Block Hours list.

Click the three-dot menu next to the block hour type you want to manage.

Edit a Block Hour Type

  1. Click the three-dot menu next to the block hour type.

  2. Select Edit.

  3. Update the Block Hour Name or Hours as needed.

  4. Click Update Block Hour.

Delete a Block Hour Type

To remove a block hour type, open the three-dot menu and select Delete.

The delete option is also available from the Edit Block Hour panel.


Using Block Hours in Schedules

Once a block hour type is created, it becomes available when adding a block hour to a staff member in a schedule.

From the schedule, you can select one of the predefined organization-level block hour types or create a custom block hour for a specific need.
